Business Viability Improvement Program
The Lakeshore Business Improvement District is proud to offer a grant program designed to improve the viability and success of business operations in the Downtown Kenosha Area. BVIP is a reimbursement program for property owners and business owners within the Lakeshore Improvement District who are currently operating a business within the Lakeshore Business Improvement District. At this time, the funding is not available to those within the extended marketing boundary. Applicants must apply during the designated period, complete the online form, and include all request documentation. A scoring committee will apply points to applications for an unbiased approach to grant funding. If awarded BVIP funds, the project applicant will be provided with further instructions on materials and timelines needed for reimbursement. As a reminder, this is a reimbursement program for up to 50% of a project cost with a maximum allotment of $5,000 based on grant approvals. All applications should be able to sustain projects without this program if applying.
A program similar to this, the Downtown Kenosha Façade Program, existed for a time and was successful in providing thousands of dollars to downtown properties for improvement projects. We are excited to revive and revamp this program to give funding to projects that improve the appearance and success of operations in the downtown district.
Prior to applying, please review the scoring guidelines so you are fully prepared to complete your requested narratives. All projects will be reviewed, regardless of size or scope. Distribution of funds is based on monies available during each grant cycle, the number of applications received, and the viability of the projects in review. If you have questions about the program prior to applying, please contact info@GoDowntownKenosha.com.
