Meet the Author – Laura Meyer

Mark your calendars, bookworms! This Friday, June 16, from 4pm to 7pm, we’re hosting an evening with the incredibly talented Cosplay/Fashion Author, Laura Meyer at Studio Moonfall. Come and step into the mesmerizing world of Victorian-era costuming with her book “The Victorian Collection: Advanced Costuming Techniques”.

You’re new to historical reproductions or cosplays? Not a problem! Laura’s book isn’t just a how-to guide, it’s a voyage into the creative process. It’s jam-packed with time-saving tips, pitfalls to sidestep, and a ton of techniques for creating your own Victorian-inspired gowns.

It’s not just about the clothes, though. This book is a journey filled with historical figures, personal ups and downs, and a healthy dose of humor. And did we mention the stunning photos of those intricate gowns?

And who’s the genius behind this all? Laura Meyer has been a writer, teacher, and designer for more than 20 years. With degrees from Alverno College under her belt, she runs Twilight Ember Education Services, LLC. When she’s not writing or teaching, Laura loves to read, game on her PC, go camping, and share her thoughts on her blog, “Repleating History”.
