About “A Caged Body with a Freed Soul”:
“A Caged Body with a Freed Soul” is an autobiography that epitomizes triumph over tragedy, as the book follows a six-year timeline of Payton Lange’s physical, mental and spiritual recovery after a horrifying event: a spontaneous spinal cord injury and paralysis. This story encapsulates that life is unforgiving and cruel, but it, more importantly, expresses that life can be miraculous even if the darkness is enough to consume everything. Containing four sections that convey the losses, healings, struggles, and rewards of this grueling but gratifying journey, this book is a movingly intricate weave—a detailed and poetic chronicle of healing against all odds.
About Payton Lange:
Payton Lange is a twenty-year-old college student pursuing a career in occupational therapy. She has been wanting to write a book about her spinal cord injury journey for years, but she believes that due to her abundant life lessons and growth she has endured especially over this past year, that now is a better time than any. She is passionate about helping anyone who is going through seasons of tribulations, but she especially desires to help patients who are in the darkest of times like she once was. There is no doubt that her life still contains many struggles, but through these past six years, she has learned to see every moment, person, movement, or feeling as the greatest of gifts.
