Sallese & Company: A New Kind of Salon in Downtown Kenosha

In downtown Kenosha, a new kind of beauty business is making waves. Sallese & Company, founded by Chelsea Sallese, is more than just a salon—it’s a community-focused space that prioritizes health, sustainability, and local collaboration. Chelsea’s journey from stylist to business owner is one of passion, resilience, and a deep commitment to her family and her community. This new venture is a testament to her desire to create a space where beauty and wellness go hand in hand, where clean beauty is celebrated, and where everyone is treated like family.

A Personal Journey of Inspiration

Chelsea’s decision to open Sallese & Company wasn’t a random idea—it was born from a deeply personal experience. Several years ago, Chelsea’s daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, a life-changing event that made Chelsea rethink the products and services she was using in her own life and offering to others. During her daughter’s battle, Chelsea became acutely aware of the toxins present in many beauty and wellness products. This experience sparked her mission to create a healthier, chemical-free environment for both herself and her clients.

“I knew I wanted to offer a space that provided more than just beauty treatments,” Chelsea says. “I wanted to give people the opportunity to experience clean, safe beauty, and to learn about the importance of reducing toxic exposure in everyday life.” This mission became the foundation of Sallese & Company—an eco-friendly, sustainable salon that doesn’t compromise on quality or results.

The Vision Behind Sallese & Company

At Sallese & Company, it’s not just about looking good—it’s about feeling good too. Chelsea’s vision for the salon is one of warmth, inclusivity, and community. “When people walk in, I want them to feel like they’re part of something,” she explains. “I want them to feel like they’re walking into a family, not just a business. That’s what sets us apart—we’re not just a salon, we’re a space for people to connect, relax, and enjoy themselves.”

With an emphasis on eco-conscious beauty practices, Sallese & Company offers a variety of services ranging from haircuts and bridal styling to lash extensions, facial waxing, and more. But what truly makes this salon stand out is its approach to business—everything from the products used to the services offered is centered around sustainability, health, and community.

Chelsea’s commitment to clean beauty doesn’t stop at the services she provides. She has carefully selected the products used in her salon to ensure they align with her values. “We only use products that are free from harmful chemicals, parabens, and sulfates. Every product in our salon has been chosen with intention, and we’re constantly researching new options to ensure that we’re offering the best, safest products for our clients,” she says.

In addition to traditional salon services, Sallese & Company hosts regular “pop-up” events. These events range from book club gatherings to permanent jewelry and tattoo parties, offering clients a chance to enjoy unique experiences while supporting local businesses. It’s just another way Chelsea is creating a community space where people can connect and be part of something bigger than just a haircut or facial.

A Family Affair: Anthony’s Role in Sallese & Company

Running a business is no small feat, but Chelsea is not doing it alone. Her husband, Anthony, plays a pivotal role in the success of Sallese & Company. As a marketing expert and the one responsible for much of the salon’s construction, Anthony’s contributions have been invaluable in bringing the business to life. “We’ve worked so well together in getting this business off the ground,” Chelsea says. “I come up with the ideas, and Anthony makes them happen.”

Anthony’s background in marketing and website management has been instrumental in building the salon’s online presence. “We’ve been able to start the business without taking on a lot of debt, which is something we’re really proud of,” Chelsea explains. “By leveraging our strengths and working together, we’ve been able to build a sustainable business model that will set us up for long-term success.”

Supporting Local Artists and Businesses

One of the most exciting aspects of Sallese & Company is its focus on supporting local artists and businesses. Chelsea believes in the power of community and understands that small businesses are the backbone of any thriving town. That’s why she’s committed to showcasing the work of local artists in the salon and offering a platform for them to display their creations.

“We have a rotating gallery space in the salon that features the work of local artists,” Chelsea explains. “Whether it’s paintings, photography, or handcrafted jewelry, we want to celebrate the incredible talent we have in Kenosha. It’s so important to support each other, and that’s something we really value here at Sallese & Company.”

In addition to supporting artists, Chelsea also emphasizes the importance of carrying locally sourced products in the salon’s boutique. “We carry products that are eco-friendly, sustainable, and unique,” she says. “We partner with local makers and fair-trade artisans to offer items that reflect our values and support the community.”

A Community-Centered Business

Sallese & Company isn’t just a business—it’s a space for people to gather, connect, and celebrate the community. Chelsea is an active member of the Go Downtown Kenosha Outreach and Retention Committee, which helps local businesses thrive and fosters a sense of camaraderie in the downtown area. “Being involved in the committee helps me stay connected with other businesses and gives me the opportunity to collaborate and support each other,” Chelsea says. “When we work together, we can create something really special for this community.”

The salon also hosts regular events to give back to the community, including charity fundraisers, women’s empowerment workshops, and family-friendly activities. “We want to give back to the people who have supported us,” Chelsea says. “It’s important to me that Sallese & Company is not just a place for beauty services but a place where people can come together, learn, and grow.”

Looking Ahead: Exciting Plans for the Future

As the opening of Sallese & Company approaches, Chelsea is filled with excitement and anticipation for the future. With plans to expand the salon’s services and products, she’s always looking for ways to innovate and bring new experiences to her clients. “We’re constantly looking for ways to grow and improve,” Chelsea says. “Whether it’s adding new services like facials and nails or collaborating with other businesses in the area, we want to create a space that’s always evolving and always exciting.”

In the meantime, the salon is gearing up for a grand opening in the spring, with plenty of events and promotions planned to celebrate the occasion. “We’re planning some really fun things for our grand opening,” Chelsea says. “Stay tuned for announcements!”
