Francesca’s journey began with a love for creativity and hands-on learning—something she discovered wasn’t fulfilled in traditional classrooms. Instead, cosmetology opened up a world that challenged her intellect and ignited her imagination.
“There’s real science and anatomy involved,” she says. “It was one of the best decisions of my life.”
Her salon, Francesca & Co., is a reflection of that passion—but also of her upbringing. With Italian roots and a family legacy of entrepreneurship (her mother once ran three restaurants, including Kenosha’s iconic Special Pizza), Francesca was inspired early on to build something of her own. Today, her salon stands as a testament to dedication, resilience, and heart.

And that connection extends far beyond the salon chair. Downtown Kenosha’s foot traffic and neighboring shops mean new faces often walk in, whether they’re curious passersby or part of the vibrant events like Sip & Stroll. Francesca sees these moments as golden opportunities.
“Events like that are a game-changer,” she shares. “They bring in a mix of familiar faces and newcomers—it’s a beautiful way to build lasting community ties.”
A Labor of Love Behind the Scenes
While the salon radiates positivity and warmth, Francesca is candid about the work behind the glamour.
“People say, ‘Your job looks like so much fun!’ And it is—but it’s also long hours, constant learning, and a lot of hats to wear,” she admits. “But if my clients see joy and passion when they’re in my chair, I know I’m doing something right.”
Her clients aren’t just customers—they’re family. And they’re her biggest cheerleaders, especially when she adds a new service or earns another certification.
A Vision for the Future
Francesca is always looking ahead. Recently, she reached a major milestone by purchasing and remodeling the salon’s building. In the next five years, she envisions launching Francesca & Co. education and certification programs to help aspiring beauty professionals build fulfilling careers.
“I want to grow the business, take a few more family trips, and keep building a life that’s balanced and meaningful,” she says.

Life Outside the Salon
When she’s not behind the chair or planning her next big move, Francesca unwinds with her husband, kids, and extended family—often sharing laughs, games, and meaningful moments. Her heart stays grounded in these relationships, especially with her sisters Annalisa and Rita, and her sister-in-law Amy.
“My clients are my celebrities,” she says with a smile. “But if I could style someone for a red carpet event, that would be a ‘pinch me’ moment.”
She also dreams of one day taking her kids to visit her parents’ hometown in Italy—an experience that would bring her story full circle.

Francesca credits much of her resilience to two women: her hardworking mother and her elementary school teacher, Mrs. Sally Gross.
“She once told me, ‘It might take you a little longer, but you’ll get there.’ That stuck with me,” Francesca recalls. “Everything I’ve achieved may have taken time, but I got there.”
And what’s her personal philosophy?
“Enjoy each day. Love deeply, laugh often, and stay positive—even when things get hard. We’re all just passing through, so make every day count.”
