Cool Down, Downtown

Warm days can be hard to handle if you don’t have a plan to stay cool. This doesn’t mean you have to hide at home in the air conditioning, though. Go Downtown Kenosha for some great options that offer fun and refreshment when temperatures climb.

Cooling Centers

Visit a local museum or library, which are designated cooling stations. The Kenosha Public Museum is a great option for families, as is the Dinosaur Discovery Museum. Those interested in history might want to explore the Civil War Museum or even the Kenosha Public Library’s Simmons Branch at Library Park.

Sweet Treats
Nothing beats the heat like a sweet treat. A premium ice cream cone from Scoops or Sandy’s Popper is always a good plan. Or try a shake at Candy Lane Milkshake Bar! Smarty’s Sweet & Treats has amazing boba teas that offer refreshing bursts of flavor, too.

Water Works

Visit the splash pad at HarborPark to enjoy cool water and plenty of place to run the crew around! Explore the beaches in the downtown area, including Simmons Island where there is a park offering lake breezes, areas for swimming and sunning, and even mats that allow wheelchairs to access the beach.

These are just a few of the ways to enjoy warm days downtown! Hop over to your favorite social media platform and tell us what you do to beat the heat!
