Brace yourself for this exclusive interview —it’s not all sugar and spice!
What makes the holiday season in Downtown Kenosha unique for your business?
Kevin: “The holiday season brings a special energy to Downtown Kenosha. We see a lot of travelers coming back to visit family, as well as college kids returning home. They all seem to crave our famous Garbage Plates—it’s like a little piece of home they’ve missed.”
How does being part of the Downtown Kenosha community enhance your holiday celebrations?
Kevin: “We absolutely love the festive lights downtown. There’s just something magical about walking out into a brightly lit, decorated street after a busy day. It brings people together and creates such a cozy holiday atmosphere.”
What are your favorite local holiday traditions or events in Downtown Kenosha?
Kevin: “Every Christmas Eve, we head over to Swede’s for their charity event—it’s become a personal tradition for us. And of course, the Lightin’ Up celebration is a standout. Seeing the community come together to kick off the season is incredible.”
Do you have any special holiday traditions or themes for your business this year?
Kevin: “Absolutely! Christmas Eve morning, we host Jingle Jams. It’s an event filled with music, and we serve special Christmas-themed food and drinks. It’s a great way to spread holiday cheer.”
What inspired your holiday window displays, products, or services this season?
Kevin: “Our staff inspired this year’s Christmas window display. Instead of lights—because our windows are small—we’ve created a giant Christmas card featuring the Frank’s Diner team. It’s personal and festive, just like our diner.”
Are there any new holiday specials or events you’re hosting for the Downtown Kenosha community?
Kevin: “Besides Jingle Jams, we’re offering some Christmas-themed food and drinks through the season. Eggnog French Toast has been a big hit with our customers!”
How does your business collaborate with other Downtown Kenosha businesses during the holidays?
Kevin: “Frank’s Diner can have long waits, especially on weekends. We encourage our guests to check out the local shops while waiting. We even take their phone numbers and call them when their spot is ready. It’s a win-win for everyone!”
What role does your business play in making Downtown Kenosha a festive destination?
Kevin: “Frank’s Diner has a party atmosphere all year round, but during the holidays, we go the extra mile to keep things merry and bright. Our food, music, and the people create an atmosphere of nostalgia and celebration.”
Can you share a story about how your business has positively impacted someone’s holiday in Kenosha?
“While there’s nothing in particular that comes to mind, we’re proud to support as many charities as we can during the holiday season. It’s a way for us to give back to the community that gives us so much.”
What do your customers seem to love most about your business during the holidays?
Kevin: “For many families, coming to Frank’s Diner during the holidays is a tradition. They love that the diner hasn’t changed much in nearly 100 years. It’s like stepping back in time, and that sense of continuity is comforting, especially during the holidays.”
How do you thank your customers for their support during the holiday season?
Kevin: “We try to show our appreciation every day by delivering great food and a welcoming atmosphere. We also aim to make their holiday visits memorable with unique offerings and festive vibes.”
What message would you like to share with Downtown Kenosha visitors and the community this holiday season?
Kevin: “Have a peaceful, joyful Christmas. Enjoy the moments with your loved ones, and take time to appreciate the little things that make the season special.”
What are you most looking forward to as we step into the New Year?
Kevin: “Honestly? Some time off! The holidays are wonderful but also incredibly busy. A little downtime sounds great.”
How can the community support Downtown Kenosha businesses like yours this holiday season?
Kevin: “Get out and explore the shops downtown! There are so many great little businesses with unique gifts and experiences. By shopping local, you’re helping keep our community strong and vibrant.”
