DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 3rd Annual Kenosha Taco Fest! \nOn Friday\, June 27 the Kenosha History Center is hosting the 3rd Annual Kenosha Taco Fest at Kennedy Park\, along the shores of Lake Michigan. Food trucks will compete for votes to be named “Kenosha Taco Fest Champion”. The event is FREE to attend (tacos and other menu items will be available to purchase from participating vendors). \nThe food trucks competing will set their own menu and pricing. Customers can purchase the tacos and other menu items and then vote for their favorite taco at the event. Kenosha Taco Fest will take place from 3-9pm with a winner being announced that evening. \nKenosha Taco Fest will coincide with the Kenosha History Center’s popular Friday Night Classic Car Cruise-in on June 27. All classic cars and spectators are welcome at this event. There will be a special area for classic cars. \nThere will be entertainment on stage throughout the evening. SUMMARY:Third Avenue Historic Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Third Avenue Historic District is one of four historic districts designated in the City of Kenosha. The district features Kenosha’s early 20th century mansions along the Lake Michigan shore. This area was the residential choice for many of Kenosha’s most important industrialists.\nThe tour typically lasts 90 minutes with a leisurely walk discussing the architectural and historical significance of the buildings. The tours are led by volunteer historians.\nReservations for the Walking Tour are $10 per person. No physical tickets will be handed out; the tour guides will have the names registered on a list the day of the tour.

DESCRIPTION:NEW in 2023! On the fourth Sunday of the month\, May through October\, the Kenosha County Historical Society (who operates the Kenosha History Center and the seasonal Southport Light Station Museum) presents the Old Northside Historic Walking Tour. \nThe tour starts at 1 PM at Veterans Memorial Park (shown). The tour is expected to last 90 minutes and will make its way through the old north side of Kenosha: “over the Rhine.” Historically\, the neighborhood was a mix of workers and business owners\, primarily immigrants from Central and Eastern Europe\, and shows a slice of life in the self-contained urban neighborhood of the past. The tours are led by volunteer historians\, who grew up in the neighborhood. \nReservations are required and are $10 per person. Reservations can be made in person at the Kenosha History Center\, via email at kchs@kenoshahistorycenter.org\, or via phone at 262-654-5770. No physical tickets are given out; the tour guides will be given a list of registered names the morning of the tour.
