The December 7 event will run from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Theses events are FREE to the public.\nPLEASE BRING YOUR OWN CAMERA (there will not be a photographer on site).\nThe Kenosha History Center Gift Shop will be open and Kenosha-centric items will be available to purchase for holiday gifts.\nIn addition\, the Southport Lighthouse will be open for tours and climbs on each Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm. A lecture on the “Rouse Simmons Christmas Tree Ship” will be held at noon on each of these days.

It really adds to the fun and beauty of the event.” \nThe Holiday Winter HarborMarket will be located on the Second Floor Ballroom\, and the Lower-Level Heritage and Elks Rooms at The Stella. Both floors are fully accessible for people with health conditions and impairments. The hotel and the space will be festively decorated\, Forgianni said. A vendor map will be available next week at www.kenoshaharbormarket.com. \nFood and beverages\, including alcohol\, will be available to eat and drink on site. \nSanta Claus is\, of course\, coming to town and will be on the balcony of the ballroom to greet children and their families from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, Forgianni said. \nHaley Klinkhammer will perform holiday music and more from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.\, in the ballroom. \n“If you are looking for holiday gifts and for a way to get into the holiday spirit\, this is the place to be\,” Forgianni said. “Many vendors will feature items in gift baskets and holiday containers\, so it will make holiday giving easier and much more special.” \nForgianni said this Kenosha HarborMarket’s capstone event and the highlight of the season for both shoppers and local vendors. \n“I am grateful to the volunteer Board of Directors for Kenosha HarborMarket\, our staff and the staff of The Stella for the planning and implementation of what continues to be a holiday highlight in Kenosha\,” Forgianni said. \nParking will be plentiful\, both on-street and at the City of Kenosha Downtown Parking Structure\, free for public use. \nVisit the Kenosha HarborMarket Facebook page for additional activities and updates about the special Kenosha Holiday Winter HarborMarket. We crisp up bacon\, then sauté onions in some of the grease. Add potatoes\, cook until brown\, and then mix in eggs. Served with toast. We will also be serving our German eggs Benedict. SUMMARY:Jake La Botz- December 7
DESCRIPTION:Jake La Botz’s rough and tumble upbringing took him from juvenile delinquency and punk rock to learning blues from the last of Chicago’s pre-war era bluesmen. From there\, with guitar in tow\, he made his way across the U.S.A. until he hit the end of the line in Hollywood where an improbable acting career began to unfold. \nAfter getting clean from heroin at thirty years old\, La Botz became a Buddhist meditation practitioner. He also took his bluesy guitar chops to the Greater Mt. Zion Church in South Central L.A. where he steeped himself in gospel music. Ever since then\, La Botz has been putting out his own style of Gospel-noir Americana. The eccentric stories\, characters\, and underlying spiritual messages often heard in his songs come to a head on his latest album Hair on Fire. \nAmong more than twenty film and TV credits\, La Botz has acted in True Detective\, Rambo\, and On the Road. His most recent film\, D.O.A.\, stars fellow musician John Doe from the punk band X. \nBeyond music and acting\, La Botz is also a writer. His debut collection of short fiction is forthcoming from Cornerstone Press in April\, 2026. A graphic memoir is also in the works. See the Fiction tab for a complete list of publications.

A series of stories that have been described as capturing “the searching soul of the Midwest”. \nKim will be at Blue House Books on Saturday\, December 7th\, from noon to 3 p.m. to chat with readers and sign copies of her latest short story collection. \nABOUT THE BOOK: \nA door-to-door salesman’s visit shows Carol a new side of her mother and threatens the security they both had taken for granted; a woman finds out what happens when we’re “too busy to die”; a woman in her fifties celebrates her newly augmented body parts; four friends try to breech a chasm in their friendship by planning a reunion; and a researcher examines his relationship to creativity in a world where it has been deemed a mental illness. \nABOUT THE AUTHOR: \nKim Suhr is the award-winning author of “Nothing to Lose” and “Close Call”\, both published by Cornerstone Press at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. Her work has appeared in many journals including at Midwest Review\, Pink Panther Magazine\, and Wisconsin People & Ideas\, where “Everything Burns” was recognized in their annual fiction contest. \nKim is also Director of Red Oak Writing where she leads critique groups\, teaches a prompt-writing class called “Time to Write”! and provides individual manuscript critiques and coaching. She has presented at various conferences including the Wisconsin Writers Association\, Examined Life\, and Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP). Kim holds an MFA from the Solstice program where she was the Dennis Lehane Fellow in Fiction. \nWhen she is not writing\, she enjoys hiking\, gardening\, and being a fangirl for her grown children in their various pursuits. She lives and writes in Southeastern Wisconsin.
