SUMMARY:Meet the Author - D. Lieber
DESCRIPTION:Meet the Author! \nVisit us on Friday\, August 11\, 2023 at Studio Moonfall from 11am to 2pm to meet Fantasy/Romance Author\, D. Lieber. \nHang out at the shop and take a peek inside their book\, Once in a Black Moon: \nChicago journalist Erin Nichols isn’t about to give up when she’s fired for writing an exposé. But when a combination of murder\, magic\, and celestial events transports her through time and space to Canada’s western frontier\, city hall corruption becomes the least of her worries. \nPanicked and adrift\, she awakens in a body not her own\, which was found left for dead in the wilderness. \nErin is relieved to take shelter with the local Mountie-the picture of upright Canadian fortitude. But as tragedy stalks the nearby First Nation reserve\, Erin learns from a Romanian mystic that magic is dying\, and the fae are turning to their darker natures to survive. \nWhile the reserved and sexy Mountie helps her navigate a time in which she doesn’t belong\, the mysterious and seductive conjurer helps her try to find a way home. As they alight feelings and desires Erin never knew she was capable of\, she begins to wonder where she truly belongs. \nGoing back could cost her heart but staying could cost her life. \nGet a sneak peek at Once in a Black Moon at https://bookshop.org/a/9574/9781951239008 \nD. Lieber has a wanderlust that would make a butterfly envious. When she isn’t planning her next physical adventure\, she’s recklessly jumping from one fictional world to another. Her love of reading led her to earn a Bachelor’s in English from Wright State University.\nBeyond her skeptic and slightly pessimistic mind\, Lieber wants to believe. She has been many places—from Canada to England\, France to Italy\, Germany to Russia—believing that a better world comes from putting a face on “other.” She is a romantic idealist at heart\, always fighting to keep her feet on the ground and her head in the clouds.\nLieber lives in Wisconsin with her husband (John) and cats (Yin and Nox). \nSee you from 11am to 2pm on Friday\, August 11\, 2023 at Studio Moonfall\, 5031 7th Avenue with D. Lieber!

I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement\, 1960–1970 displays a wide range of photographs taken by amateurs\, local photojournalists\, and internationally known photographers. Together\, they provide a vivid visual story of the evolution of the civil rights movement and shed light on the movement’s integration in the daily living in the American South.

SUMMARY:Meet the Author - Jessie Rose
DESCRIPTION:Meet the Author! \nVisit us on Thursday\, August 10\, 2023 at Studio Moonfall from 4pm to 7pm to meet Thriller/Horror Author\, Jessie Rose. \nHang out at the shop and take a peek inside their book\, Atomic Love: \nLos Angeles\, 1986. Jenny Stone\, a blossoming art student\, is lured into the L.A. underground by a blue-haired\, goth street artist with a purse full of drugs and a not-so-lucky rabbit’s foot. Lost\, she lands at the feet of charismatic rock star\, Evan Reed. Not a Sunset glam rocker\, Evan is the lead singer of rock n’ roll’s loudest\, angriest band\, embodying the dark side of the “The Strip.” Handsome\, charming and enthralled with the young artist\, he wants her paintings–then he wants her. A dangerous cocktail of narcissistic love bombing and manipulation keeps her in his orbit. His demons and need for control threaten every aspect of their lives together. There were warnings\, one red flag after another. Yet\, Jenny is pulled into money\, fame\, and excess. Will she survive or succumb to the violence that surrounds her? Atomic Love is Sharp Objects meets heavy metal memoir and will appeal to fans of Emma Cline and Gillian Flynn. (Trigger warning: This book contains graphic scenes of violence\, sexual assault & the death of a child). \n*Atomic Love is a faux memoir and is not based on real persons or events.* \nGet a sneak peek at Atomic Love at https://bookshop.org/a/9574/9780578564166 \nJessie Rose is a thriller/horror and fantasy writer who grew up in Appalachia\, moved to Chicago (the city of her heart) and made a home in Wisconsin. She is the author of Atomic Love\, a psychological thriller\, perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn\, Emma Cline\, Stephen King and rock n’ roll memoirs. She is currently promoting Atomic Love while working on her long awaited vampire series Underneath A Black Sky (A House of Black Novel).\nShe is co-founder/writer/editor for The Beautiful Wild Magazine which focuses on music\, art\, culture and social justice. Co-founder of Love Letters to Russia\, a project created to support Russian LGBTQ+ youth. She also writes with Stefanie Leigh for Write Furiously\, a writing resource site to help new authors. In other words\, she’s busy! She’s also a mom to two cats\, the beautiful & hilarious Oli & equally funny partner Bryan (The Grizz). \nSee you from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday\, August 10\, 2023 at Studio Moonfall\, 5031 7th Avenue with Jessie Rose!

SUMMARY:I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement\, 1960–1970
DESCRIPTION:The 1960 –1970 decade was a momentous time for the civil rights movement in the American South. It was an historic decade that unleashed both hope for the future and profound change as public spaces were desegregated and as African Americans secured their right to vote.
