SUMMARY:I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement\, 1960–1970
DESCRIPTION:The 1960 –1970 decade was a momentous time for the civil rights movement in the American South. It was an historic decade that unleashed both hope for the future and profound change as public spaces were desegregated and as African Americans secured their right to vote. I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement\, 1960–1970 displays a wide range of photographs taken by amateurs\, local photojournalists\, and internationally known photographers. Together\, they provide a vivid visual story of the evolution of the civil rights movement and shed light on the movement’s integration in the daily living in the American South.

SUMMARY:More Than Just Grit: Civil War Leadership\, Logistics and Teamwork in the West 1862
DESCRIPTION:A new book\, More Than Just Grit: Civil War Leadership\, Logistics and Teamwork in the West\, 1862\, has entered the collection of Civil War titles describing the war in its second and crucial year. More evenly matched on battlefields with the South than at any time later in the war\, the North was able to win a series of victories\, and occasionally did so with commanding generals who remain largely unknown today. Why was the North so successful in the West? Dick Zimmermann will present an original summary of his book showing the pattern of observable elements that appeared to lead to victory in these engagements. \nMr. Zimmermann was a school administrator and taught history and economics. At the Civil War Museum in Kenosha\, Wisconsin\, he assists in the archives\, presents programs on military history\, and does research for new exhibits. He has written one other book on the Civil War\, articles on military history\, and is a member of the Milwaukee Civil War Round Table.

SUMMARY:Gettysburg In Color\, Volume I
DESCRIPTION:Gettysburg in Color\, Volume I: Brandy Station to the Peach Orchard \nPresented by: Pat and Dylan Brennan \nPatrick Brennan\, a long-time student of the Civil War\, published author\, and an editorial advisor for The Civil War Monitor magazine\, has teamed up with his technology-astute daughter Dylan Brennan to bring the largest Civil War battle to life in the remarkable 2-volume study: Gettysburg in Color. Volume 1 covers Brandy Station to the Peach Orchard\, and Volume 2 covers The Wheatfield to Falling Waters. \nRather than guess or dabble with the colors\, the Brennans used an artificial intelligence-based computerized color identifier to determine the precise color of uniforms\, flesh\, hair\, equipment\, terrain\, houses\, and much more. The result is a monumental full-color study of the important three-day battle that brings the men\, the landscape\, and the action into the 21st century.

SUMMARY:PUBLIC Education: Artists and their Gardens
DESCRIPTION:The Kenosha Public Museums are joining forces with PUBLIC Craft Brewing to bring you PUBLIC Education! This series approaches a variety of topics from dinosaurs to art to some guy who collected amputated limbs during the Civil War. For this session\, join museum curator Anna Wolff to talk about artists who were inspired by the bounty and beauty (or sometimes desolation) of their gardens. Claude Monet\, Georgia O’Keeffe\, Frida Kahlo\, and Donald Judd will be discussed while sampling some of Kenosha’s finest craft beers. The first one is on us!
