Over one hundred years later Jack and Jamie Davies would purchase the run-down winery and set out to produce a world-class sparkling wine there. \nMaking history in 1965 with the first commercial use of Chardonnay in an American sparkling wine\, the Davies were vaulted to international fame when their Blanc de Blancs was used for President Nixon’s 1972 “Toast to Peace” with China’s Premier Zhou Enlai. \nNow helmed by Jack & Jamie’s son Hugh\, Schramsberg Vineyards––and also Davies Vineyards––have continued to earn international acclaim for their still and sparkling wines\, hand-crafted in Napa Valley\, California.
